The longhorn cowfish (Lactoria cornuta), also called the horned boxfish.
In the wild this fish glows and look I made a glowing skeleton taxidermy version of it
It’s easy to see why the boxfish got its name. Its body is shaped like a small box! Their boxy shape is due to the shell structure underneath their scales. This strange shape makes them very slow swimmers. In fact, some people describe their movement as hovering rather than swimming. This is a saltwater fish that lives on coral reefs in the Pacific and Indian Oceans as well as the southeastern Atlantic Ocean. Ostracion cubicus is the scientific name for the boxfish. The Latin word Ostracion means shell, referring to the shell or carapace structure of this fish. Cubicus means cube-like. Pufferfish and cowfish are some of its other names.
The whole exoskeleton of the Boxfish grows with the fish. It forms 90% of how it looks when still alive.
This unique piece features a glowing Boxfish skeleton, mounted on a wooden base for an elegant and natural display.

All skulls and skeletons were processed by me and my team. Pictures were taken by me.
Every item was cleaned and articulated together by hand, it has unique nuances and variations that make them original and unique. Beautiful snake. Well crafted and sits perfect atop my books. Be very careful handling, the ribs are delicate and I broke two off just by pulling out the stuffing it was shipped with. Luckily snakes have many ribs and it’s not noticeable lol. I’ll be buy in from this shop again
